Job Description

Cemza Coastal is seeking a dependable and professional Truck Operator to join our Cape Town team. This role is responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of products to customers while ensuring compliance with transport regulations, company procedures, and customer service standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with dispatch, logistics, and customers to ensure deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position requires excellent driving skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Duties & Responsibilties
  • Load, transport, and deliver products safely and efficiently.
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with loading and unloading products where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle customer queries professionally.
  • Adhere to assigned delivery routes and schedules.
  • Comply with all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Prepare reports and delivery documentation.
  • Conduct checks on operating equipment and vehicles.
  • Verify STB POD slips against customer information.
  • Verify weighbridge slips against customer details.
  • Review electronic PODs and delivery instructions via the D Track App.
  • Receive verbal confirmation from the dispatching clerk before delivery.
  • Take photographs of delivery locations and submit them via the designated WhatsApp group.
  • Ensure delivery seals are broken by the customer and not the driver.
  • Present STB and POD documentation before proceeding with discharge.
  • Follow all company safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver's licence.
  • Valid PDP licence.
  • English literate (read, write, and speak).
  • 2–5 years' experience as a Code 14 truck driver.
  • Good health and physically fit.
  • Sober habits and a professional driving record.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in bulk material transportation.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic POD systems and mobile applications.
  • Excellent time management and route planning abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Package & Renumeration
  • Salary: R13,000 – R14,000 CTC per month (based on experience).
  • Permanent position.
  • Based at Cemza Coastal, Cape Town.
