Assistant Process Manager

Cemza is seeking an experienced Assistant Process Manager to join our Production team in Port Elizabeth. This role is focused on implementing and maintaining high efficiency standards within the Milling Plant. The successful candidate will take ownership of process reporting, improvements, risk management, and waste reduction across milling operations.
This position requires a proactive mindset, hands-on knowledge of manufacturing systems, and strong analytical capabilities. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and ensures compliance with integrated environmental and quality management systems.
Report on process performance and implement improvements
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
Analyse production data to identify and mitigate risks
Oversee chemical handling and safety in production inputs
Manage and reduce waste, ensuring proper consumable usage
Draft and submit monthly maintenance and performance reports
Ensure product quality and prevent deviations
Collaborate with the mill team to deliver on production KPIs
Maintain compliance with EH&S and company policies
Diploma in Chemical Engineering (minimum requirement)
5–8 years’ experience in Engineering and Manufacturing
Proven experience in process optimisation within a production environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in risk mitigation and quality control
Familiarity with integrated environmental and quality systems
Analytical thinking and innovation in plant efficiency
Salary: Negotiable
