Logistics Manager

Cemza is seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to coordinate supply chain activities across its Cape Town operations. Based at the Inca facility, the role includes overseeing bulk cement movement from port to warehouse, managing in-house tanker fleets and third-party transporters, and ensuring smooth debagging and dispatch processes. The ideal candidate will manage inventory control, enforce compliance with transport and warehouse safety protocols, and improve logistics performance through planning and reporting. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, along with experience in construction materials or cement logistics.
Coordinate bulk cement transport from port to warehouse sites.
Oversee dispatch of cement, bricks, and blocks to internal and external destinations.
Manage company-owned tankers and third-party transporters.
Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate inventory records across locations.
Plan and supervise debagging and tanker loading operations.
Enforce FIFO and empty pallet return procedures.
Develop daily and weekly logistics plans aligned with production and sales schedules.
Track delivery KPIs, inventory turnover, and transport costs.
Generate and present performance reports to management.
Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and transporters to ensure service delivery.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with transport and safety regulations.
Maintain fleet documentation including permits, insurance, and service records.
Visit and manage multiple sites across Cape Town as required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse, or transport coordination.
Diploma or degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
Knowledge of bulk cement handling and tanker logistics (advantageous).
Familiarity with inventory control, fleet compliance, and safety protocols.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and logistics systems.
Valid driver’s license and knowledge of Cape Town logistics routes.
Ability to manage multiple sites and meet operational deadlines.
Experience in cement, bricks, or construction material logistics.
Exposure to fleet management systems or transport compliance tools.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Experience leading multi-site operations and managing third-party contractors.
