Cemza is seeking an experienced and driven IT Technician to join our Port Elizabeth plant. This role ensures technical support for plant IT infrastructure, including hardware, networks, and Microsoft 365 platforms. You’ll be the go-to for troubleshooting issues, optimising performance, and maintaining secure connectivity across the plant.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing onsite support, coordinating with the national IT team, and assisting users with day-to-day system challenges. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a dynamic industrial environment.
Set up and configure IT hardware and software (PCs, laptops, printers, CCTV, etc.).
Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues on site.
Support ERP systems, weighbridge integration, and Microsoft 365.
Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN networks.
Manage local backups, PABX systems, and user permissions.
Coordinate with national IT team on system-wide updates and issues.
Deliver end-user training and support.
Ensure compliance with IT and safety policies.
Maintain accurate records and submit reports as required.
Relevant tertiary qualification in IT.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT technical support.
Prior experience as a field technician preferred.
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
Medically fit and willing to work overtime/on standby.
Experience with cement or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
Familiarity with ERP and weighbridge systems.
Ability to work independently and resolve issues proactively.
Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
Based at Cemza Plant, Port Elizabeth
