- Jaydine Dirk: A student from Delft High School in Cape Town, Jaydine’s determination and ambition truly impressed us. It was a joyous occasion when our representative, Rastian, presented her with the bursary cheque, surrounded by her supportive school community. Jaydine, we wish you success in all your future endeavors.
- Renechia Statoe: Our final bursary of the year went to Renechia from Humansdorp Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape. Presented by our dedicated rep, Melikhaya, this award is a testament to Cemza’s commitment to supporting talented individuals like Renechia in their educational pursuits. We can’t wait to see all you’ll achieve!

Cultural Celebration: Honouring Heritage and Tradition
Cemza was privileged to partner with Mfundisi Hardware for the Umgidi event at Mgudlwa Great Place, a truly remarkable celebration of cultural heritage and community spirit. This significant occasion marked the return of 35 young men from the initiation school, symbolizing an important milestone in their transition into adulthood. The event was deeply rooted in tradition and served as a poignant reminder of the values, identity, and resilience that bind our communities together.
Being part of such a profound cultural event was both moving and inspiring. It provided us with an opportunity to witness firsthand the strength of community bonds and the pride in preserving cultural heritage. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Inkosi ZweleNqaba Mgudlwa of the Madiba clan for graciously welcoming us to share in this special celebration.

Making an Impact: Celebrating Mandela Day
Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy of compassion and service inspired the Cemza community to take meaningful action in 2024. We proudly joined hands with the Dan Pasiya Foundation and Transkei Quarries for a transformative initiative at Ngolo Primary School in Mthatha. Guided by our dedicated representative, Amandla, we worked together to paint and repair the flooring, creating a refreshed and improved learning environment for the students. The project highlighted the power of teamwork and the profound impact that even small contributions can have. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces was a reminder of the importance of giving back and investing in the future of our communities.
To close out Mandela Month, the Cemza community partnered with a local NGO to donate school uniforms to 20 deserving students at Nkalane Junior Secondary School. This thoughtful initiative, led by our passionate representative Sanuse, was a testament to Cemza’s unwavering commitment to supporting the next generation. By providing these students with much-needed resources, we hope to inspire confidence and encourage their academic success.
Through these projects, the Cemza community continues to honour Mandela’s vision by fostering hope, opportunity, and unity within the areas we serve. Celebrating Community Through Shared Passions

At the Pecan Nut Festival American Saddle Horse Show, our representative Ettienne joined local participants to celebrate a vibrant display of culture and community. The event highlighted Cemza’s commitment to supporting local traditions and shared interests, such as our collective love for horses.
The Cemza community also participated in the Groot Kampioen Sierruig, where Ettienne continued to strengthen our connections with local participants. These events served as reminders that building a community isn’t just about physical structures—it’s about creating relationships and shared experiences that last a lifetime.
In addition to celebrating these occasions, Cemza introduced the Cemza Voucher Vault initiative at both events. This program rewards our loyal customers with exclusive benefits when they purchase five or more bags of Cemza cement, further enhancing their building experience and deepening our commitment to the Cemza community.
