Job Description

We are a dynamic and growing cement import and distribution company serving the Western Cape market. We are seeking a skilled and responsible Truck Operator to deliver products from our distribution warehouses to clients. This role includes safe transportation of goods, ensuring accurate deliveries, handling loading and unloading, maintaining vehicle safety, and providing exceptional customer service. Candidates must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and long hours, and should possess a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Duties & Responsibilties
  • Safely load, transport, and deliver cement to clients.
  • Verify orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Handle loading and unloading of items from vehicles.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing queries and complaints professionally.
  • Adhere to assigned routes, schedules, and all transportation laws.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and follow safety procedures.
  • Prepare delivery-related reports and documents.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for operational safety.
  • Ensure all delivery protocols are followed, including verifying POD slips, weighbridge details, and electronic delivery instructions.
  • Communicate with dispatch clerks for confirmation and updates.
  • Capture and share delivery location details via WhatsApp.
  • Ensure the client breaks the seal on delivered items as per operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • License: Valid Code EC (old code 14) license with PDP.
  • Experience: 2-5 years as a Code 14 truck driver.
  • Skills: English literacy (read, write, speak).
  • Other: Physically fit, sober habits, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently.
  • Transport: Own transport to Cape Town Port is essential.
Bonus Points
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with delivery-related apps like D Track.
  • Experience with maintaining delivery records and documentation.
  • Ability to handle long hours and weekend work with dedication.
